Here is news for the week of July 30-Aug. 5, 2018:
1. Epcot International Food & Wine Menus Are Here
After much anticipation, the full menus for the 2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival are finally here. You can check out the menus in their entirety over at Disney Food Blog. There is even a new mimosa bar! The festival begins Aug. 30 and runs until Nov. 12.
2. Full Details For V.I.PASSHOLDER Nights
Last week, Disney World announced a special event for Annual Passholders (Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premiere Passholders) allowing them to spend two extra hours after closing in Magic Kingdom and Epcot on certain dates. The list of available attractions have been released. Head on over to Chip and Company to see the full list. As for dining, the Main Street Bakery and Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe will be open for guests.
3. The “Digital Key” Feature Expands
Disney World’s latest feature the Digital Key (on the My Disney Experience app and uses Bluetooth technology to unlock resort rooms) continues to expand. Those staying at the Contemporary, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary, Polynesian Village Resorts, The Villas at Polynesian, Grand Floridian, The Villas at Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Animal Kingdom Villas (Jambo House and Kidani Village) can try out the new experience. 4. The Pet Friendly Option Becomes Permanent
According to WDW News Today, Disney World’s pet friendly policy is becoming a permanent offering. For a fee beginning in October 2018, guests staying at Art of Animation ($50/night), Port Orleans Riverside ($50/night), Yacht Club ($75/night), and Cabins at Fort Wilderness ($50/night) will be allowed to bring their dogs.
5. Pizzafari’s Family Dining Debuts
You can enjoy family-style dining at Animal Kingdom’s Pizzafari. The quick service restaurant debuted the experience on July 31. It costs $19.99/adult and $11.99/guests ages 3-9 and runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Those partaking are given quite the range of food to enjoy, including Caprese Salad, Caesar Salad, Baked Ziti, Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken, Pepperoni Pizza, and Miniature Cannolis.
6. You Can Get ‘Festival of the Lion King’ Dining Packages
Now here is some exciting news, especially for those who love the Festival of the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom. Dining packages are being offered at Tiffins followed by VIP seating at the show. Lunch and dinner will include the choice of two tiers (Tier I and Tier II). Both tiers include a three-course meal with an option of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic drinks. This option begins Aug. 13 through Nov. 21, 2018.
