Every week I gather the latest news from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and other Disney parks to help you keep up with all of the changes. Here is the most recent Disney news for the week of Nov.12-Nov. 18, 2018:

1. Here’s When The Disney Skyliner Will Open

The highly anticipated Disney Skyliner at Disney World finally has a general opening date: beginning fall 2019! The gondola system will transport guests to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort, the proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property. Select gondolas will also feature certain Disney characters on the exterior. You can see a sneak peek of the gondola’s design here.

2. First Look At ‘Guardian’s of the Galaxy’ Coaster

In some exciting news, more details about Epcot’s Guardians of the Galaxy attraction being built in Future World were recently revealed, including the concept art for the actual coaster.  Plus, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek revealed about the ride, “On most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride. But on this attraction, each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you. That means instead of whizzing by the action, you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch.” The attraction will also be “one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters.” It’s set to open in time for Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.

3. More Details About Coronado Springs Resort’s Renderings

If you haven’t heard, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is currently undergoing an expansion. The renovation includes a 15-story tower called “the Gran Destino Tower.” Set to be completed in July 2019, the tower will serve as the resort’s main entrance and will add a total of 545 new guests rooms, including 50 suites. The tower also features a two-story lobby!

As for the resort’s existing rooms, they have also been fully updated. There are also two new restaurants being planned. The first is described as a themed table-service restaurant at the top of Grand Destino Tower. The second is a restaurant on an island in the middle of the resort’s 14-acre lake, Lago Dorado, which will also have new walkways stretching across the water.  You will soon be able to make reservations for stays beginning in July 2019 for Gran Destino Tower.
