Every week I gather the latest news from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and other Disney parks to help you keep up with all of the changes. Here is the most recent Disney news for the week of Nov. 19-Nov. 25, 2018:

1. Disneyland After Dark Returns

Disneyland After Dark, a special after-hours parks experience, is returning to the Disneyland Resort in 2019. There are two events that will take place at Disneyland after the park closes. For both experiences, select attractions will remain open and guests will be able to purchase special food and collectible merchandise. Better yet, there will even be unique entertainment.  I’ve listed all of the other important details below.

Sweethearts’ NiteOn Feb. 7, this romantic event will offer love song-themed dance parties, a “Royal Ball” experience, encounters with Disney couples (Eugene and Rapunzel, Aladdin and Jasmine, and Mickey and Minnie), fun magic shots featuring romantic Disney scenes (unlimited PhotoPass digital downloads, too!), sweetheart-themed decorations, and so much more!

90s NiteYou can relive the era on March 7 with a special ’90s-themed show, throwback musical entertainment, a “re-imagined Disney Afternoon Avenue” with greetings from ’90s Disney characters, fun photo opportunities with unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, specialty merchandise, including a commemorative fanny pack, and much, much more!

Tickets go on sale for Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 for general public. They cost $99/person (tickets not required for children 3 and under). Both events run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. (you can enter the park beginning no earlier than 6 p.m.)

You can start making reservations for the Gran Destino Tower on Nov. 27 on the official Disney World website or by calling 407-W-Disney or a Travel Agent. As previously announced, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is currently being renovated. Part of that renovation includes a brand new 15-story tower called the Gran Destino Tower that is set to be completed by July 2019. The tower will serve as the resort’s main entrance and will add a total of 545 new guests rooms, including 50 suites. The tower also features a two-story lobby.

6. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy Details Revealed

More details regarding Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy that’s coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in spring 2019 have been revealed! Guests will take on the role of a rookie racer as they watch Lightning McQueen on stage showcase what he’s learned over the years. The audience will be “enveloped by a giant, wraparound screen that is nearly two stories tall and stretches more than 200 feet from end to end, pulling everyone into the action!” Tow Mater, Cruz Ramirez, and other Radiator Springs friends will also make appearances. You can also catch a sneak peek of the attraction on Disney Parks Presents a 25 Days of Christmas Holiday Party on Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
