Every week I gather the latest news from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and other Disney parks to help you keep up with all of the changes. Here is the most recent Disney news for the week of Jan. 21-Jan. 27, 2019:
1. A Zootopia-Themed Land?!
This new land sounds amazing! Disney announced this week a Zootopia-themed land is coming to Shanghai Disneyland. In addition to guests being able to walk through the city of Zootopia, there will also be a brand new attraction, merchandise, food, beverages, and entertainment. Construction is slated to begin sometime later this year.

2. Disney Springs Is Welcoming Another New Restaurant
Inspired by the Washington D.C. food truck of the same name, Pepe by José Andrés is coming to Disney Springs. It will be located next to the brand new Jaleo also from José Andrés and will offer hot and cold Spanish-style sandwiches, including the following optoins:
- Pollo Frito: breaded chicken breast, alioli, bravas sauce, piparra peppers, gem lettuce, and sherry dressing
- Serrano y Manchego: served on crispy Pan de Cristal with tomato fresco
- Bocata de Vegetales: made with roasted peppers, onion, green asparagus, spinach, and manchego cheese on Pan de Cristal
There will also be salads, soups, sides, and Spanish sangria offered.
3. Make Reservations At Disney World’s New Riviera Resort
Here is some exciting news. You can now book reservations for stays beginning in December 2019 at Disney World’s latest resort — the Disney’s Riviera Resort. This is the 15th Disney Vacation Club property. Click here for more information about the resort.

4. Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood Is Also Accepting Reservations
This summer the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort officially opens, and so will it’s new rooftop restaurant, Toledo — Tapas, Steak & Seafood. You can now make reservations at the dining establishment for bookings starting in July. To read descriptions of the food options and to see photos, head on over to the Disney Parks Blog.
5. New Sleeping Beauty Dooney & Bourke Bags!
Now this is how you celebrate the 60th anniversary of Sleeping Beauty! There are brand new gorgeous Dooney & Bourke bags celebrating the special occasion. They are now available for purchase at Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories in Disney Springs.
6. Check Out The Anaheim Ducks Day Schedule At DCA
Are you planning on celebrating Anaheim Ducks Day on Feb. 11 at Disney California Adventure? If so, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with all of the events. Click here to see the complete schedule!
7. Foodie Guides At Disneyland Resort
If you’re planning on celebrating Valentine’s Month (now until Feb. 18) at Disneyland park this year, you won’t want to miss out on all of the yummy food and beverages. Click here to go through the Foodie Guide, which looks amazing, especially the Strawberry Cheesecake “Funnel of Love”! Plus, there is also the Lunar New Year celebrations happening now through Feb. 17 at Disney California Adventure and there are so many different dishes and drinks that look amazing.

8. Celebrate Bubble Gum Day The Disney Way
Did you know Feb. 1 is Bubble Gum Day? Well, if you really want to celebrate the day, be sure to head on over to Epcot, where Disney PhotoPass photographers will be taking photos in front of the famous Bubblegum Wall!
9. All Kinds Of Maleficent News
After Maleficent tragically caught on fire during the Festival of Fantasy Parade last May, there is finally some good news. She is back in action! The dragon officially returned to the Magic Kingdom on Jan. 25. Furthermore, to celebrate her return, not only can you purchase Maleficent-themed merchandise at some of the parks, but you can also treat yourself to the famous “Maleficent” cone at Storybook Treats in Fantasyland, which first became a hit during Halloween 2018. The cone is only available for a limited time, while supplies last.

10. So Much New Merchandise
In usual Disney fashion, there is all kinds of amazing new merchandise coming to the parks in 2019. From a “Dapper Dan Yellow” spirit jersey, to all kinds of glorious ears, to Kate Spade bags, to four new Mickey Mouse T-shirts inspired by each Disney World park and designed by local Disney artist, the merch just keeps getting cuter and cuter. You better get your wallet ready!
