Every week I gather the latest news from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and other Disney parks to help you keep up with all of the changes. Here is the most recent Disney news for the week of April 22-28, 2019:
1. ‘Star Wars’: Galaxy’s Edge Reservations
As previously announced, those wishing to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park (it officially opens on May 31) from May 31-June 23, 2019 must make a reservation to get into the land. This week, Disney Parks Blog finally revealed WHEN guests can make those reservations. Specific details will become available on both the Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland.com on May 2 at 8 a.m. PST. You must have a Disney Account to register for reservations so make sure you have one before registration opens at 10 a.m. PST. For guests who want a guaranteed reservation, all you have to do is book a stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23, 2019.
2. ‘Rivers Of Light’ Is Getting An Update
This summer, Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will become Rivers of Light: We Are One. According to Disney Parks Blog, this version of the show will feature more beautiful imagery, animal characters from Disneynature films, classic moments from Disney animation, and will weave together the original musical score with familiar Disney themes. We Are One is set to debut at the Discovery River Amphitheater beginning Memorial Day weekend 2019.

For the first time in 14 years, a new fireworks spectacular is coming to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. The show will feature projections, lasers, lighting, and fireworks that will help tell a “not-so-scary story about how anything can happen on Halloween night” with help from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, who are drawn to a mysterious haunted house. Plus, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam in Fantasyland, the Frontierland Costume Promenade, and, of course, trick-or-treating throughout the park!

6. Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough Reopens…
Well, here is some good news! According to Disneyland.com, the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough will reopen on May 28, 2019. 7. Meet Cinderella’s Newest Pony
Cinderella’s royal family recently welcomed a new pony named Lilly, after Walt Disney’s wife, Lillian. The first white Shetland pony ever born at Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground officially came into the world in March. Her parents are Lady and Ferdinand, also Shetland Ponies, who pull Cinderella’s pumpkin coach for Disney’s Fairytale Weddings and parades at Magic Kingdom. When Lilly turns 2, her training to pull the coach will begin and eventually she’ll make her debut as part of the team. To see Lilly in person, she’s making appearances a few hours each day in the show pasture near the barn at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
