Every week I gather the latest news from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and other Disney parks to help you keep up with all of the changes. Here is the most recent Disney news for the week of June 3-June 9, 2019:
Note: As I previously shared on my Instagram Story, I may have to take a week or two off from my Disney News of the Week post. I’m going to be traveling (to Disneyland for the first time, so follow along on Instagram!) and have a busy schedule, so I might not have time. If that’s the case, I will be sure to keep you updated on any important Disney announcements via social media.
1. New Fireworks Show For ‘MVMCP’
A brand new fireworks show will debut at this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show will be hosted by Minnie Mouse and “will celebrate the magic of Christmas with medleys of beloved holiday songs.”

4. WDW Summer Ticket Deal For Florida Residents

Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
5. Big Change For Hollywood Studios FastPass+
For guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Aug. 29 or after, there will be new FastPass+ rules. As reported by WDW Prep School, most Hollywood Studios attractions will soon be a Tier 1 FastPass. Yes, this includes Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, and Alien Swirling Saucers. This means when making FastPass+ reservations, YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE of the previously mentioned rides initially when selecting your first three FastPasses. It’s unclear if this is a permanent change, but with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Aug. 29, Disney is understandably going to make changes and try their best to figure out how to handle lines, crowds, etc. The majority of shows and Star Tours will be in Tier 2.
Remember: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance (opens later this year) will not initially offer FastPasses.
6. Special V.I.Passholder Event For New Ears
The new Magic Mirror Metallic and Imagination Pink ears make their official Walt Disney World and Disneyland debut on June 14. At WDW, Annual Passholders can purchase the ears before anyone else — and get their 20 percent discount. The special V.I.Passholder event will be held on June 14 at World of Disney in Disney Springs from 9-10 a.m. Everyone else can purchase the ears that same day at 10 a.m.
7. Rest Of 2020 Cruise Line Offers Revealed
The remainder of the 2020 Disney Cruise Line offers were revealed this week. There are quite a lot of offerings, so click here to check them out.
8. Meet Bo Peep & New Pop-Up Shop In Toy Story Land
Bo Peep is now taking photos in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. She replaced Jessie and is available for meet and greets with Woody daily by the Toy Story Mania entrance. As for Jessie, don’t worry, she didn’t disappear and is signing autographs over by Alien Swirling Saucers. At the exit of Toy Story Mania, there’s a pop-up shop with new merchandise. Throughout Hollywood Studios, there are also themed-Toy Story treats.
