I ended this trip exactly where I started — in an empty Hub in front of the new Cinderella Castle that is actually super pretty in person. 🤩 It’s hard to believe how fast this visit flew by, but, then again, it always does. Even though I had a fantastic time, the fact that there’s a pandemic going on hasn’t escaped me. But I will say this, Disney is doing a great job with the health and safety protocols. Did I feel safe? Yes, as safe as one can be with a deadly virus circulating, especially in a state that has a lot of cases. And the people complying to the protocols? I am pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are a few here and there, but the majority are following the rules. I wish “real life” was like this. Once I exit the Disney bubble I know I’ll go back to staying mainly at home (and quarantining for 14 days), because the “real world” is very different. With that, there’s a lot to digest and a ton of information to put together for those who want or are thinking about traveling to WDW right now. Stay tuned! 👍

It may have rained for a bit today, but it was another fun time at EPCOT. 🌐 I truly appreciate this park more as an adult and I’m so glad we were able to visit twice during this trip. I tried so many new treats from the Food and Wine festival, rode Test Track (I haven’t been on it in years), and so much other goodness. Oh, and the crowds were very minimal making the visit all the more memorable.💫

Wow! Animal Kingdom was so empty today. Unbelievable! 🤩🦁 If you want to avoid “crowds” as much as possible, this is the park to visit. And for those wondering, I haven’t had any touring plans for any of my days. I usually have a detailed scheduled, but not this trip. A plan isn’t needed. Just go with the flow and you’ll still be able to squeeze in most everything, if not everything you want to! Of course, you might want to plan for Hollywood Studios, since it’s been the busiest park and has the most sought after rides and the virtual queue for ROTR. It all just depends what you want to accomplish. As for my AK visit, the only thing I’m bummed about is that I didn’t see any of the character boats, except for the drummers and Meeko and Pocahontas from afar. ☹️ Other than that, it was a pretty great day!

It was another good day at Hollywood Studios! 🌟

It was another good day at Hollywood Studios! 🌟 I was able to do a lot of firsts, including riding Smugglers Run, eating at Docking Bay 7, experiencing Runaway Railway (twice), and more. There were times it felt crowded, but overall the park wasn’t super busy. I did notice today that a few people didn’t want to follow the mask rule, but the majority of guests are complying. Tomorrow we head to Animal Kingdom! 🦁

There were definitely a lot of highlights today, but meeting Joy was at the top. She’s so cute! 💙💚 I am in favor of keeping these type of character interactions for the foreseeable future. You can find both Joy and Winnie the Pooh near Journey Into Imagination.

I can’t believe this actually happened today. 🤩 It still doesn’t feel like I’m back at Walt Disney World after all these months. There’s a lot to digest, but let me say that I had a very good day, the crowds weren’t bad for a Saturday (some busy areas here and there, but always a way out), and, overall, I felt safe as safe as can be during a pandemic. I’m constantly aware of my surroundings, using hand sanitizer and washing my hands nonstop, steering clear of bottleneck points, and wearing my mask (it’s really not that bad in this heat). 😷 For those wondering, yes, the magic is very much still alive — just in a different way. Oh, and, yeah, I cried about four times. It’s definitely emotional being back. I have a full week of park goodness ahead, so stay tuned!

It’s official: I’m on my way to my happy place

It’s official: I’m on my way to my happy place after 5+ months. 🥳💙 Actually, I was supposed to leave tomorrow, but changed my flight to a *very* early one today to hopefully miss the weather that they’re expecting in Florida due to the hurricane. Hopefully all is well weather-wise.🤞I’m keeping everyone in my thoughts affected by the storm.

Now, let me address traveling right. After much back and forth about this trip that I’ve had planned since February, I decided to take it. Please know that I haven’t taken this situation lightly and have thought about it A LOT. I just want to be as open and as transparent as possible. Let me also say that if you disagree with my choice, that’s fine, but please don’t leave any negative comments. Me visiting is also by no means my way of encouraging you to visit or travel right now. I want to experience it for myself and gather information for my blog that will hopefully help you if you’re considering going to WDW right now. And, also, I obviously really miss it.

Yes, there is a scary number of cases right now in Florida. I’m very well aware of my decision and the risk that comes with it. I have and continue to take this pandemic seriously. I barely leave my house. There’s also been controversy that comes with WDW reopening, which I understand. But, I truly believe if anyone can show others how we should be handling health and safety protocols right now all while being able to continue to enjoy ourselves and do the things we love, it’s Disney.
