Refurbishments & Closures
Now-TBD: Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closed for refurbishment.
Now-TBD: Hall of President’s is closed refurbishment, while Disney works on creating a new President Joe Biden animatronic.
Now-TBD: Main Street Confectionery is closed for refurbishment. You can find treats at the Main Street Cinema.
Now-TBD: The Chapeau is closed until further notice. You can browse ears and hats at Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A. and find artwork and other items at Bonjour! Village Gifts in Fantasyland.
Now-Fall 2021: The Baby Care Center is currently closed, but there is a temporary location in Tomorrowland at the former AAA Lounge next to the Carousel of Progress.
Now-Fall 2021: Guest rooms in the Main Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are currently under refurbishment being transformed into Incredibles-themed rooms.
Starting July 16, most of the first-floor lobby will be closed, but many guests services will still be available (elevators, restrooms, bus transportation, pathways to Convention Center). The front desk will temporarily locate to the second floor.
As previously announced, The Wave… of American Flavors and The Wave Lounge at the Contemporary will close in summer 2021 as the restaurant undergoes refurbishment “for a reimagined dining experience.”
Reservations for The Wave will be available through July 15. During the closure, you will still be able to enjoy The Wave’s breakfast for a limited time — at the California Grill. You must make reservations through The Wave, not California Grill.
July 20-22: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closed for a short refurbishment.
July 27-29, 2021: “it’s a small world” is closed for a brief refurbishment.
Jan. 23-28, 2022: The Disney Skyliner will close between the International Gateway, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Guests will still be able to use Disney bus transportation and FriendShip boat service during this time.
January 20, 2022-April 2022: The Samawati Springs Pool will close for refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. Guests can use the Uzima Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge/Jambo House.
-Animal Kingdom’s Primeval Whirl and Rivers of Light and Magic Kingdom’s Stitch’s Great Escape are closed permanently.
-Spaceship Earth’s lengthy refurbishment is currently postponed.
-The new Mary Poppins attraction and are in the U.K. pavilion are currently postponed.
